EXPLORE HIS ART
ORGANIC
My artistic practice tries to unveil the possible ways in which the imaginaries and fictions inherited by colonization inhabit the present. Starting from drawing, I work with archives that evolve into projects in different media, such as collage, photography, video and installation. I conceive my projects as tools to review and reimagine the way these narratives are constructed, through transhistorical readings and the identification of images, imaginaries and ghosts (Warburg).
In this sense, my projects seek to trace the possible connections between these imaginary elaborations of the past and the realities of the present. To do so, I work by collecting, constructing, and reimagining archives, texts, illustrations, and other sources, which I question from my place as a Colombian artist based in Europe. In doing so, I am interested in making new fictional archives emerge that reflect on the place of the fantastic in the construction of the historical.
